Gina Primavera

THE PRODIGY

Little girls often spend their time playing with friends or toys. Gina Primavera remembers fondly spending hers sweeping hair in the salon where her grandfather worked. “As a little girl, I wanted to just follow him and go to the salon,” Primavera gushes. While her grandfather discouraged the family from getting into the industry — knowing the hard work that went into it — he saw a spark in Primavera and encouraged her. 

Primavera, a Brewster native, attended BOCES and graduated high school with her cosmetology license in hand. Now, the Best of Westchester winner (Best Colorist, 2020) has created an impressive name for herself. While young, her experience rivals that of a veteran. “I’ve been in salons my whole life. I just had an early start,” she shares. Her reputation county-wide is for transforming hair with seamless highlighting and gorgeous balayage. 

Detail-oriented and confident, she can please any client, by getting to know them and their specific hair goals. “When [my clients] get emotional, I get emotional. I just love seeing them so happy.”

She is a certified BELLAMI extension artist, including Keratin-tip, tape-ins, sew-ins, and I-tips. Her background also includes certifications in Goldwell, Wella’s Master Color Expert program, Redken, Bumble & Bumble, as well as Vidal Sassoon’s precision cutting.
